the kite runner

just finished a book on cd on our long trip to MT. we all listened to it in the van. "The Kite Runner" i really enjoyed it. great story. i'm going to start listening to books on cd a lot more in the van. helps the time go by.

supersize me

lola went to the vet today and did wonderfully. they said they think she is four months, not five, and that she'll end up being about 30 pounds. i don't want her to get any bigger! she's 15 pounds right now so i guess she'll double from what she is now. i'm sad though because i like her small. LOLA, STOP GROWING!!!

lola is doing really well. she LOVES to cuddle and is getting (almost) housebroken! she's only about 11 pounds so she's much smaller than she appears in the pictures. she gets along great with reilly, my roommate anna's dog which is such a blessing. i can't wait for her to meet the rest of her family!!

the bourne ultimatum

lindsay and i just saw this movie tonight. it's probably been a year since i've seen a movie in the theatres but this was a great one. jason bourne is one tough man.

What Remains ***

What Remains by Carole Radziwil... is a vivid and haunting memoir about a girl from a working-class town who becomes an award-winning television producer and marries a prince, Anthony Radziwill, one of a long line of Polish royals and nephew of President John F. Kennedy. Even if you don't like reading about the Kennedy's, this is a beautifully written book along the lines of The Year of Magical Thinking. Has anyone else read it? I highly recommend it.

One Republic

We're back. After a couple of weeks without access to our computer, we're back on finally!

I know I told a few of you about this already, but last night on "So You Think You Can Dance", the surprisingly very entertaining dance show, Ryan Tedder's band played their first single. Ryan went to CSCS along with the band's guitarist, Zach Filkins. The song is really good, as is the remix by Timbaland. I think if you go to their myspace page and listen to the version that starts playing immediately when you get to the site, you'll be impressed.

Summertime Dessert

Meyer Lemon Cream Pie

1 ¼ c graham cracker crumbs
2 T sugar
5 T butter

Bake crust 8-10 min at 350*

2 (12 oz) Silken Tofu (firm)
2 lemons - grated zest & juice
½ c confectioners sugar

Blend filling and fill and chill.

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks good!
