ideas for our basement

I saw this before/after project on the apartment therapy blog today and thought maybe instead of doing drywall in the basement, this would work. what do you guys think? it would be much easier but i'm not sure it would look as cute in a basement.

LOST

I have finally got into the show lost. It only took me four years but i found the whole first season at our library and watched it all in 2 weeks. quite a show. I think i like jon locke and sun the best although lindsay doesn't like jon locke. We can agree to disagree. Anyway, i do apologize for arriving so late. what the heck is in that hatch?
