paul and i are heading to NYC for a vacation the first week in july. i know all of you have spent some time there and we'd love to hear about your favorite spots, resturants, anything...please comment with your recommendations
Well NYC is one of my favorite places on Earth, and I did get engaged there, so I have to share a few favorite places. Yippee!!!
Cafe Reggio in Greenwich Village: wonderful coffee and desserts in a very cozy location http://www.cafereggio.com/
Soba Ya: delicious food, beautiful setting, affordable prices 229 E 9th St Ste 3 (212) 533-6966
Indian Bread Co. in Greenwich Village: 194 Bleecker Street (212) 228-1909 www.indianbreadco.com amazing prices, dal soup to die for, and excellent flavors all tucked into the tiniest place
Museum of Modern Art http://www.moma.org/index.html always amazing and well worth the price. One of the current exhibitions seemed very funny... 50 Years of Helvetica April 6, 2007–March 31, 2008 The Philip Johnson Architecture and Design Galleries, third floor
Have a lot of fun. I could keep recommending places but I'll limit it at that.
I forgot to mention that Fridays from 4-8pm are free at MoMa thanks to Target, but I went to one with Ayley and it was PACKED! Might be worth the $20 tickets to have some space and room to breathe. Either way, though, it's worth going.
Lindsay, I know you read "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion also, so don't forget it's on Broadway right now with Vanessa Redgrave. It's supposed to be very good.

SoHo has wonderful art galleries; you can pick up a guide at any of them and walk around just a few blocks to see a lot of great art.
I HATE Times Square. I don't think it's worth your time. If you've seen it once, don't go back unless you're going to see a Broadway show.
liz: thank you so much. this is so helpful. we will definitely check out some of these resturants and areas. if you think of anything else...please don't hestitate to pass it on.
