charleston, suits and unbearable heat

Over Memorial Day, a couple of us went down to Charleston to Wild Dunes to the beach for a mini-vacation and also to celebrate Abbi's 25th birthday. The weather was perfect and it was a really relaxing trip. We even stopped at South of the Border on the way back and got some nice Mexican-style souvenirs including water toys that were supposed to blow up 600 times their size and ended up being total rip offs.

This evening Patrick and I were running errands and decided to stop in Goodwill to see if they had anything good since it's nearby the grocery store. He picked up a nice looking suit and when we looked inside, it was Christian Dior! Very vintage looking tag but no date or anything so I don't know how old it is. Anyways, we googled Dior suits and new ones retail for about $2,000!! We bought ours for $11. I figured Mom would be proud. :) After dry cleaning I'm guessing our entire purchase will total around $15, bringing our savings to $1,985. Now we just have to figure out where to wear a suit to! (This is not the actual suit but it's a Dior so it's close I guess)

The heat here has been out of control. I went to look at an apartment this after around 3pm and it was 101 degrees according to my car!! At least the store has A/C but it makes going outside miserable. It's only early June so I hope it doesn't get worse or I'm going to hole up in the house and not leave until September.

Thanks for posting about your trip to Charleston, Abby. I was hoping that it was a good time for you all. I'm sure you did all the historical tours, right? :)
